Two social science question papers missing
CHENNAI: Following the leak of the question paper, the State Government on Tuesday postponed the SSLC and OSLC Social Science examination from April 5 to April 11.
School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu, making a suo motu statement in the Assembly, said two question papers were missing from the Alli Nagaram Government High School in Theni.
Information was received on April 2 that the bars of a window of the room, where the papers were stored, were found broken. The district education authorities opened the room and checked, when it was found that two question papers of the social science examination were missing.
A complaint was lodged with the police and investigation was on against those on security duty, the Minister said.
The Matriculation and AISLC examinations will be held as scheduled on April 5.

Two question paper custodian officers in the rank of school headmasters and a government school watchman were suspended on the charges of carelessness and negligence in connection with the case.
Chief Educational Officer S. Sukanya suspended Nandhagopal, Government High School headmaster in Palakombai, and Radhakrishnan, headmaster of the Government High School in Srirangapuram, question paper custodian officers.
Raja, watchman of the Government Higher Secondary School, Alli Nagaram, was also suspended.
The Education Department had deputed four persons two headmasters, one policeman and a watchman to guard the stockroom.
A three-member team of officials had conducted an on-the-spot inquiry into the case.
