PATNA: The Bihar Vigilance Department's special wing on Wednesday raided the premises of a senior IPS officer Narain Mishra, following charges that he amassed property in excess of known sources of his income.
Separate teams of the CLEAN (Corruption-linked efforts for affirmative action)searched his premises here and at Gaya and Hazaribagh (Jharkhand). Now Director-General of Home Guards, Mr. Mishra was Director-General of Police during the Rabri Devi regime.
He declined to comment on the raids. The special team was said to have interrogated him.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also declined to comment, saying the special wing, comprising retired CBI officials, was free to act in matters of corruption.
