CHENNAI: Chief Secretary K.S. Sripathy assured industry that the power shortage faced by the State was temporary.
The Government was doing everything possible to ensure that it was not affected, he said. He was speaking at the inauguration of the 43rd Annual Convention of the Computer Society of India (CSI) and the 25th Conference of South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation, here on Thursday.
Mr. Sripathy said that the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board had announced the load shedding schedule being followed to adjust and reduce shortage of power. He added that 200 megawatt would be obtained from outside the State to address the situation.
Diesel shortage was not a crisis, he said, urging industries to come forward to tighten their usage.
Suggesting alternative sources of power, he said incentives were available for those adopting alternative sources.
