Guwahati: Train services between Dhemaji and Silapathar stations on the Rangapara North-Murkong Selek section of the Northeast Frontier Railway’s Rangiya Division were suspended on Friday afternoon after the boulder base of a railway bridge was washed away in floods in northern Assam’s Dhemaji district on Friday.

Chief Public Relations Officer, N.F. Railway, Samir Goswami said the boulder base on both sides of the railway bridge No. 356 , between Dhemaji and Silapathar stations on Rangapara North-Murkong Selek section of Rangiya Division were washed away at about 3.30 p.m.

Following, this train services have been suspended between North Lakhimpur and Murkong Selek. Repair works are in progress and boulders are being sent to the site.

Train services on the Murkong Selek-North Lakhimpur section are likely to be affected for the next three to four days, he added.
