NEW DELHI: Jeevan Kumar, brother of the prime accused in the kidney transplant racket Amit Kumar, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation here on Sunday.
It is learnt that Jeevan appeared before the CBI officials, following which he was taken into custody.
However, the investigating agency claimed that the accused was tracked down to Lodhi Road here from where he was picked up. The CBI will produce Jeevan in a court on Monday.
“He is a prize catch as he is suspected to be an equal partner in the crime along with his brother. We will get valuable information about the racket from him. Through his disclosures, we can also check the veracity of the revelations made by Amit,” said a CBI official.
