The rain caused large-scale damage to equipment at the All India Radio (AIR) station here, forcing the authorities to suspend all programmes.
“The damage is such that it will take at least three days to restore a semblance of order,” said Bedre Manjunath, one of the presenters at AIR, Chitradurga.
He said equipment worth around Rs. 20 lakh, including computers, had been damaged as the building was under five feet of water.
The AIR employees' quarters were marooned.
