Godrej Group chairman Adi Godrej has taken over as the new chairman of the Indian School of Business executive board on Saturday.

Mr. Godrej was the unanimous choice of the ISB governing board which met here to discuss about the resignation forwarded by former chairman Rajat Gupta who is facing an inquiry by the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States on the charges of “insider trading”.

“Nobody spoke about Mr. Gupta during the meeting of the executive board and he is not on the board any more,” Mr. Godrej told reporters after emerging from the board meeting.

He, however, strongly defended Mr. Rajat Gupta and the former dean Mendu Ramamohana Rao claiming that “no ISB board member is ever involved in any scandal.”
