Sep. 10: Sri Lankan security forces kill 75 LTTE militants at Colombuthurai and recaptures some area. Sep. 11: The European Union lifts sanctions on Austria. Sep. 13: Ms. Hillary Rodham Clinton wins the Democratic Party's official nomination to be a Senator from New York, becoming the first U.S. First Lady to be a candidate in a national election. Sep. 14: The Indonesian President, Mr. Abdurrahman Wahid orders the arrest of Mr. Hutomo Mandala Putra (aka Tommy) son of the former dictator, Gen. Suharto in connection with a bomb attack.
