The right blend

A model showcasing a Rashita’s creation

Rashita Sehra’s new collection, “Jamevar” for RCKC gives a new meaning to the Indian contemporary wear. Designed basically for new age women, the collection has a very international look. An alumna of Pearl Academy of Fashion, Rashita was with designer Manav Gangwani for four years before moving on to RCKC. RCKC has carved out a name in the international market housing the likes of Anamika Khanna under the label Ana-Mika and RISA by Abhijeet Khanna.

New dimension

Says Rashita, “We have tried to blend modern with the traditional for today’s women. The traditional Banarasi sari has been given a new dimension in the Jamevar collection.”

The collection was launched to mark RCKC’s entry in the city with a standalone store in Lajpat Nagar. Some of the leading names of the fashion industry graced the occasion wheremodels displayed traditional saris and western dresses.

Fluting, layering, bias cuts and drapes with beautiful settings in different kind of embroideries have given the western silhouettes a distinct appeal. A lot of silks, chiffons, blended fabrics and satins have been used in the designs. Amit and Radhika Rastogi, who launched RCKC, feel the silhouettes in Rashitas collection are universal and yet, each has a distinctive cut and drape.

“The RCKC store has been opened to reach to diverse customers. Now they don’t have to run from one shop to another to find the matching piece of blouse for their saris. Every material is stacked under one roof. The prices are also competitive,” says Rashita.

The prices range starts from Rs.3000.
