TARE ZAMEEN PAR
T Series, Rs.160
Aamir Khan does nothing by half measures. “Every child is special”, may be the tagline of his new film Taare Zameen Par, but for the perfectionist, every movie, and every song in it, is special. It is certainly befitting that Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have put together an original score that touches the heart and compliments the sensitive lyrics. Exuberant enough to appeal to children and sensibly soulful for adults, the songs have the best of both worlds.
The title song by Shankar Mahadevan, Dominique Cerejo and Vivienne Pocha is the pick of the lot. Of the other seven tracks, watch out for Khan’s zestful vocals in “Bum Bum Bole” (the promos currently doing the rounds on TVs show Khan enjoying his role equally zestfully) and the quirky yet meaningful “Bheja Kum”. Mahadevan’s vocals seem richer and more evocative than ever, and Vishal Dadlani has done a remarkable job in “Jame Raho”. More importantly, the music gives you a preview of what you can expect from the movie – a rare accomplishment in today’s day and age.
