FURNITURE WORLD Cane furniture at the ongoing sale

The Lepakshi emporium in the city constantly endeavours to encourage artisans from the city as well as those from all over the country and as a part of this endeavour, a cane exhibition has been organised at the emporium.

The exhibition features craft from North Eastern states and has some of the usual and many unseals pieces. The usual includes sofa sets, chairs and tables and the unusual includes pieces like a wall mounting holder for bric-a bracs, trolleys, side tables and even lampshades.

The highlight of the sale is definitely the sofa sets. These sets are available in different patterns and weaves and come in a varied price range, starting from Rs. 300 to Rs. 8000. One advantage of these cane sets is that you can change the look and dιcor of your house easily. The sofa sets need cushions and changing the colour and style of these cushions will give your interiors a whole new feel.

A set of two chairs and a three-seater piece comes with matching coffee table. The tables need to be topped with a glass pane to complete the look.

In one corner of the exhibition are tiny cane artefacts. Hats, pens and hand fans are on sale here.

Move up a little further and you will see some carved pieces and all of them look like they have something bizarre sticking out of their heads. Worry not.

This is what makes these pieces stand out.

All the pieces here have been carved from the root of the bamboo shoot. The thicker part of the roots have been use to create the piece and the unsmoothened surface has the roots intact.

Do your bit for the artisans of the country. Support their beautiful creators by doing up your home with these authentic pieces.
