Lounge and dine

JUST CHILL You have an experience to look out for

Jason Donovan's Rhythm of the Rain fits the tone of this lounge in Babu Khan Mall. If the al fresco section is ideal for an under the sky dining experience with refreshing verdant patches, pebbled corners and water bodies, the lounge with its all over bay window façade offers a picturesque view of the city.

Add to this Anoushka Shankar's covers and a slice of live jazz and lounge sounds and you have an experience to look out for.

Aptly named Terrace Bay, the multi cuisine diner over looking the busy Somajiguda circle is all set to halt the migratory populace of the town in search of manna with attitude. "Till ten years ago one did not find so many fine dining restaurants in the city.

Today people here are looking for quality food with the right ambience," says Mamminder Lamba of Terrace Bay. A partner in the designer boutique in the city, Manminder adds a dash of sequins to the upholstery. A blend of fabrics, from leather for the bars (you have two bars here one for the exclusive private dos if you wish to) to linens for the lounge team up with the mostly wood décor. But the USP is definitely going to be the gourmet spread says proprietor Harminder Singh Lamba.

"We have continental, Chinese and Lebanese cuisine. The Indian cuisine is mostly with a north Indian tang," he explains. The gravy rich curries, and the kali dal minus curry leaves served with robust paranthas is a testimony to that.

The spread promises grills, sizzlers, corn soups, Italian salads, Arabic biryani, firni and continental desserts. A wine trolley to assist connoisseurs to sample red and white wines with their food is the highlight, he adds. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Drop in to soak in the ambience for starters.
