Hakka, a multi-cuisine restaurant in West Patel Nagar promises to serve authentic Chinese dishes

AUTHENTIC? Apart from Chinese food, Hakka prides itself on the right look too

Chinese food has become a sought after part of the menu in almost all fast food joints and restaurants. Still, it is difficult to get authentic Chinese dishes unless of course one is ready to spend a lot of money. But then there is Hakka, a multi-cuisine restaurant in West Patel Nagar that promises to serve authentic Chinese dishes at real economy rates.

Named after a place in China famous for its noodles across the world, Hakka is a restaurant with a complete Chinese eatery look. It is decorated with Chinese shade lamps, boasts of red ambience and a replica of original Chinese paintings on every table. The restaurant serves almost varieties of Chinese dishes, starting from momos and soups to different types of noodles. Among the various items served here, Drums of Heaven priced at Rs.80, Singapore chicken noodles at Rs.60 and coriander soup are quite popular.

The food served is very light and ingredients are imported from China, as they claim. The sauce and raw materials are prepared in the restaurant itself.

While the spicy chicken wings served are tantalising, the vegetarian noodles are less spicy. The murg malai kabab is a must-have item. Prepared with pure milk, it simply melts in your mouth, and leaves you asking for more. Besides, the restaurant also serves Indian and Mughlai dishes to meet the demands of the customers of that area. Banoo kabab is the most popular Afghani dish served here. One can also enjoy mocktails and ice creams of different flavours.

Special care

Speaking about the special care taken to ensure the quality and authenticity of the Chinese food served here, K.K. Chadha, the owner of Hakka, says, "Unlike other restaurants, we don't use green chilli and soya sauce; we use genuine noodles instead of the regular ones available in the market." We have two totally separate kitchens and chefs to maintain the exclusivity of the Chinese and Indian or Mughlai food served here."
