"When I am cited as an example of a successful VJ, dancer and a mom, I feel humbled. I've given 100 per cent to whatever I've done. But there's also a huge luck factor that has helped."
More the merrier
Of late, she's been promoting a number of brands and even doing cutting-the-ribbon routine. Endorsements one too many?
"The more, the merrier," she quips. "The number of endorsements and the kind of brands you are associated with is a barometer of success in showbiz. But seriously, I agree to endorse only after considering what value I'd be able to add to a brand. If a lesser-known brand gets more visibility because of me, it gives me a high. Money and mileage are perks."
Later this year, she will again be seen in a song sequence for a big banner film. "Whether it was `Chaiyya Chaiyya,' `Mahi Ve' or `Kaal Dhamaal,' they've been memorable," she says.
Of these, `Mahi Ve' in Kaante was the tough one: "Because, I was just getting back to work after my pregnancy. I wasn't sure about doing a pole dance. But my sister (Amrita Arora) and husband (Arbaaz Khan) goaded me to take it up. I knew I could carry it off but I needed to be reassured. Arbaaz was sure that I wouldn't look vulgar."
While select naach gaana numbers are up her alley, full-fledged roles aren't.
"I'm not keen on full-length roles because I don't want to stay away from my son Arhaan. My time with Arhaan is sacrosanct. I've learnt the art of time management - performing in shows abroad or doing campaigns doesn't involve much time. Last year, I had my hands full with `Naach Baliye' too. "
The only thing this mummy hates is the spotlight on her little son.
"I hate his pictures being splashed on page 3s. As a celebrity son he cannot escape it, but I'd prefer the spotlight not to be on him this early."
