If you like jewellery but are not so into traipsing around in sheets of gold, Stone 'n' String is the ticket. The main reason for the exhibition is that there never was enough space to display the complete range. So now you can feast your eyes on rows upon rows of scintillating neckpieces and glorious earrings.
The chandelier earrings made so popular by the filmy crowd are a hot favourite. And if you are not into shiny stuff there are wonderfully muted matte chandelier earrings in oxidised silver, which would add the right classy touch to an outfit.
Set in sterling silver, with gold plating, the jewellery works as party wear as well as daywear. There are elegant sets in crystal with asymmetric strands, delicate drops and pretty ear studs. The coral in the shape of a rose motif appears with cheerful regularity. Those in the know say the darker the coral, the more highly priced it is. And here you see the delicately tinted rose coloured coral at the bottom row and as you go higher, the colour gets deeper till you reach the highest row of a deep red coral.
The fun thing is one can choose between the sparkly and the subdued. A square pendant with yellow silk threads wound around it looks very smart and chic. There is also a huge brown crystal pendant with curly thingamajigs on it that does not look as jazzy as it sounds. And the mobile charms with a kiss of crystal make a big time statement.
