EYE-CATCHING RANGE At the fair
It is a coming together of craft traditions from different parts of the country at a National Art and Craft Fair, being held at Guild of Service, Casa Major Road, Egmore. On view is a breathtaking range of contemporary jewellery, handloom and handicrafts.
The display includes pure silver bangles and earrings studded with precious and semi-precious stones, silver ornaments, one-gram gold plated jewellery and temple jewellery. There is also an attractive array of fancy bangles.
For those who would like to deck up their homes, there are Rajasthani, Tanjore, silk and canvas paintings, stonework, tribal art, palm leaf engravings and wall hangings. There are curios one can take home too such as carved fruit bowls, corner stands, jewel boxes, tea coasters, figurines of various gods and goddesses and exquisite candle stands.
There are garments such as mirrorwork tops and skirts, chanyacholis and readymade churidar sets. There is quite a range of chikankari work too.
The fair is on till July 9, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
