A salute to P. Bhaskaran
TRIBUTE From `Ottakkampinaadom'
Memories of P. Bhaskaran are always melodious. It is as sweet and lyrical as the countless of songs and poems he has penned. Bhaskaran Master has also made invaluable contribution to Malayalam cinema as producer, director and actor. The multi-faceted genius gets a fitting tribute in the one-hour documentary `Ottakkampinaadom,' which is slated for its premiere show soon.
Directed by Yathinder Das, the docu-fiction is an enquiry into Bhaskaran Master's life beginning from his hometown of Kodungalloor, his rise as poet-lyricist, to now living away from public glare, almost forgotten by the world that he had strode like a colossus.
Jerry Amaldev has composed the background score for the film and set to music the poems of Bhaskaran Master. Ramesh Narayanan sets to tune the poems of Yusufali Kecheri and sings them along with Chitra Iyer.
Around 200 artistes, including some leading lights of Malayalam cinema, are part of this documentary produced by Sreevaraham Soman. M. J. Radhakrishnan and K. G. Jayan have wielded the camera.
