It's luxury in the middle of the ocean. Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces is all set to reopen its Taj Exotica & Spa Maldives on December 15. Situated in the middle of one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives, the re-styled resort and spa blends seamlessly with the idyllic beauty of this tropical isle.

Revitalised accommodation

All the villas at the resort have been re-designed to offer privacy and luxury. Built entirely over water, each villa comes with its own private sun deck leading into the lagoon. The deluxe lagoon villas offer guests the indulgence of choosing between the sea and their own freshwater plunge pool on the deck. For those who prefer living on land, the villa suites offer a sprawling two-level accommodation with private sit-outs, a private courtyard, an oversized plunge pool, besides other facilities. The piece de resistance in the resort-cum-spa is the Rehendi Suite. This 450 square metre presidential suite features a glass bathroom with a view of the Indian Ocean, a fresh water pool suspended over the lagoon with a private sundeck and two salas for dining and relaxing.

Jiva Grande Spa

The Jiva Grande concept is rooted in the belief that a spa is more than just four walls and a treatment room; it is a way of life, integral to the Indian philosophy of wellness. At Jiva or Life Force, guests can indulge themselves in Indian holistic experiences, treatments and ceremonies specially designed to maintain physical, mental and spiritual equilibrium.

With its tropical inspired interiors and splendid ocean views, the spa is located on its own private spa island sanctuary, made accessible by a bridge from the main resort. Spread around a central courtyard garden and surrounded by the lagoon are the over-water spa pavilions each with private ayurveda programmes such as the Signature Indian Royal Mud and Bathing Experience Pavilion, an Ayurveda Sanctuary Pavilion and the Heat, Hydro and Relaxation Experience Pavilion.

Finally guests can also enjoy a unique spa cuisine at the Jiva Grande Spa with a new range of regenerative and anti oxidant cuisine.
