Mammootty, the versatile actor, has reinvented himself successfully with "Rajamanickam".

The film is reportedly a fitting reply to his critics who said that he could not do outrageous comedy and make it work on the big screen! This rollicking action based comedy has Mammootty playing an illiterate buffalo dealer who speaks the Thiruvananthapuram lingo to perfection that worked with the mass audience of Kerala.

"Rajamanickam" is Mammootty's biggest hit so far and his careful selection of roles has reinforced the fact that he is the undisputed Numero Uno of Malayalam cinema.

The remake rights of "Rajamanickam" were snapped up by Sarath Kumar, Venkatesh and Vishnuvardhan in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada respectively. The Tamil version will be directed by Anwar Rasheed, who did the original.
