FEAST FOR THE EYES TOO The tandoor dishes are something to savour at Surabhi Photo: Vino John
Creating a family ambience for dining is quite difficult. But having live music surely helps. This is what Surabhi at Bejaj Circle offers with live ghazals and thumris on Fridays.
It is a neat little restaurant where one can enjoy a serene evening with family. You also have the choice of having your dinner on the rooftop garden on the fourth floor. There is also a small playpen for kids so that you can enjoy your meal in peace.
But ambience apart, the restaurant dishes out some truly delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare. The paneer laziz, veg patiala, veg kashmiri and veg baghdadi speak volumes of the skills of the chef. The palak rice is unique to Surabhi as it brings the aroma of both basmati rice and palak together. In the non-vegetarian fare the chicken kaju tandoori is the pick of the lot. It is a mix of tandoor chicken with cashew, which gives it a very unique aroma. The platter of kababs has interesting names like pahadi and banjara kababs. The chicken Hong Kong, chicken lahori and chicken peshavari are exotic and true to their names.
Surabhi also has a platter of biryanis and pulavs. The seafood platter is extensive with jumbo prawns, seer fish and kane (lady fish) in all their masalas are a speciality. But those who would like to unwind in a spirited manner need not fret either, as the restaurant is equipped with a cosy bar.
