CLASSIC MIX The ace designer's statement of the season is a blend of old and new
He is a big name in the fashion world and he refuses to follow any set patterns. He makes his own rules and focuses on creating designs by a masterly blend of the old and the new.
JJ Vallaya, the ace designer, has now launched his Spring-Summer Collection.
The collection offers two ranges, the first being From Dawn to Decadence. Here the designer has used pastel tones with antique moquaish and fine thread work on fabrics such georgettes and organza.
The other collection is called Shamiana, which "tries to reflect the severe contradictions of the inspiration", says the designer.
According to him, Shamiana is his tribute to the exacting and appealing craft of appliqué in voiles and linen.
