Gone are the days when fashion was restricted to apparels and footwear. Hair designing is the buzzword now, courtesy, Bollywood and its actors, which keep one guessing that what will be the next style to follow. But if you think that only stars can be aware of and create trends in hair styling, you are wrong. Schwarzkopf, one of the leading suppliers in the hairdressing business, recently unveiled the latest edition of Essential Looks-the bi-annual publication providing the latest trends in cutting, colouring and styling.
The launch of the trend guide saw a live demonstration by Antony Whitaker, Schwarzkopf's global ambassador for education, who showcased this season's trends and evaluated them in an Indian context.
Each year, Essential Looks comes up with four key trends to provide stylists with an invaluable hair fashion guide. The theme for this year's collection is to celebrate reality, real people and real hair. Says Antony, "This collection for the real people and how colours bring out the real personality in them. We are using colours to enhance the trends like browns, violets and carmel which best suits the Indian complexion."The latest collection by Essential Looks comprises four new looks - Kaleidoscope, Rocker Girl, Global and Nu-Street-Boy. The colourful tones of Kaleidoscope add a new dimension with red, violet and light brown violet, while the warm and golden shades of Rocker Girl are meant to give rich tones to funky girls. If the global palette of beige, gold and biscuit gives an exotic look, Nu-Street Boy is especially for men who want a dark blond look.
"All these are the trends of the season with beige, reds and violets being the colours of the season. This time it's special as it's about real people and real hair," says Shekhar Sdethu, General Manager, India Schwarzkopf . The company has also launched Igora Vibrance, an ammonia free colour, to give a choice to its customers.
