Designers' outlet

This will provide designer outfits at cheap prices Ebony MD

It was a designer-studded evening at Ebony's South Extension outlet. The occasion was the launch of Studio Ivory, which brings a range of designwear by the likes of Raghavendra Rathore, Payal Jain, Aparna Chandra and Sonali Mansingka at `affordable' prices. In all, 15 designers have been given an opportunity to sell their apparel at `down-to-earth' prices.

" They (Ebony) have got quality clothes at affordable prices which even a middle class man can buy. I make it a point to visit the showroom whenever I am in Delhi," said the veteran anchor- comedian Shekhar Suman while inaugurating the store along with Neeta Narula, Mananging Director, Ebony Retail Holdings Limited. This is the third edition of Studio Ivory after the success of the concept in Chandigarh and Ludhiana with the entire range of apparel along with selected jewellery, handbags and scarves. " The idea is to give the Ebony customer something exclusive in affordable prices," said Narula. " The other reason is to encourage upcoming talent," she added.

According to designer Jagdeep Shokeen, " It is more saleable and toned down. Being with other designers gives you an edge as customers will buy only the stuff that appeal to them. You have to provide best quality work at low prices." Designer Sonali believes " Ramp is more elaborate and the fashion show clothes are genarally not so wearable. Here, we can have wider customers and an instant feedback."

Interestingly, more than half of the clothes at Studio Ivory were sold within two hours of its launch. Good start!
