Dial for a pizza, but why not make them at home. This is how.
PIZZA ARE popular and easy to make. Just follow the recipes to a T.
Queen Margherita, on a visit to Naples requested for a local speciality. And this is what she got. She was served pizza in the colours of the Italian flag-red tomatoes, green basil and white Mozzarella cheese
Maida (Refined flour) -2cups
Lukewarm water -1/2cup
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and sugar. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes or till the mixture turns frothy. Add the yeast mixture to maida and oil. Knead it to smooth dough by gradually adding lukewarm water. Cover with a wet cloth and keep aside for 2 hours. Roll the dough out into 2 thick `chapattis'. Place this pizza base on a greased baking tray. Prick with a fork to prevent it from rising in the oven. Pre-heat the oven to 250°C. Place the pizza bases on the rack of the pre-heated oven and bake for 10 minutes.
Chilly powder -1/2tsp
Cinnamon -1 small piece
Ginger garlic paste -1tsp
Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water. Peel, cut into quarters, deseed the tomatoes and grind it well. Boil this with chilly powder, ginger-garlic paste, sugar and cinnamon for 15 minutes and make it thick.
Basil leaves chopped -10
Mozzarella cheese grated -1cup
Olive oil -2tbsp
Butter for greasing
Place the pizza base on a greased tray. Spread half the tomato sauce on the base. Sprinkle with half the basil leaves and cheese on top of the sauce. Drizzle with a little of the olive oil and bake in a preheated oven at 250°C for 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make another pizza.

Tomato sauce (same as the above pizza)
Paneer( cottage cheese) cut into cubes -100gms
Tandoori masala -2tsp
Salted curd -6tbsp
Garlic crushed -1tsp
Ginger crushed -1tsp
Sliced onion -1/2cup
Mozzarella cheese grated -2oogms
Sliced capsicum -1
Combine curd, tandoori masala, paneer, and crushed ginger garlic in a glass bowl. Set aside for 2 hours. Place the pizza base in a greased baking tray. Spread the tomato sauce followed by three fourths of the cheese. Remove the paneer cubes from the marinade and spread over the cheese layer, followed by the sliced capsicum. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the toppings. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make another pizza. Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C for 5 minutes. Serve immediately with crushed chilly flakes and oregano.
In this recipe Mozzarella cheese is replaced with peanut butter and tomato sauce topped with sesame seeds and garlic flavoured mushrooms, spring onions, paneer, celery and capsicum
Pizza base -2 (same as the above)
For tomato peanut sauce
Tomato sauce - (same as the above)
Peanut butter -2tbsp
Soya sauce -1tsp
After making tomato sauce add the peanut butter and Soya sauce and bring to boil. Simmer till the sauce becomes smooth. Keep aside.
Mushrooms sliced -2cups
Sesame seeds -2tsp
Garlic chopped -2tsp
Spring onion chopped -1cup
Celery chopped -1/4cup
Capsicum diced -1/2cup
Paneer diced -1/4cup
Soya sauce -2tsp
Refined oil -1tbsp
Salt and pepper -to taste
Heat oil and sauté the garlic and sesame seeds. Add mushrooms and sauté for 5 minutes; add spring onion, celery, capsicum, paneer, Soya sauce, salt and pepper. Stir well. Remove from heat and keep aside.
Place pizza base in a greased tray. Spread half of the tomato-peanut sauce on top. Spread half of the mushroom topping. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make another pizza. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 250°C for 10 minutes.
