Theatre, a teaching tool
In an attempt to help teachers create a good learning atmosphere, DakshinaChitra is organising a workshop titled "Education through children theatre" on November 5 and 6 at Chettinad Vidyashram, R. A. Puram. A teacher has to constantly explore ways to sustain the interest of her wards in the classroom. Like a theatre artiste who helps audience visualise a mountain or a sea with his body movements and sound effects, a teacher can turn a boring classroom ambience into an interesting one, using the theatrical techniques. For details about the workshop, call 98414 23149 or 24918943.
