Tara's Jewellery on display at the Vimonisha Exhibition Centre
THE VIMONISHA Private Collection Diwali Show opens today (October 21) at the Vimonisha Exhibition Centre, 12, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam. Designers from across the country will display their creations Vastra and Prachi's from Bangalore and Tanman Creations from Lucknow, Vani Creations from Delhi, Saumya from Jaipur, Vividh, Karishma and Tara's Jewellery from Chennai.
Vastra's salwar suits, saris and Indo-Western ensembles come in crepe, georgette and cotton. Intricate kantha embroidery, zardosi and sequins serve as surface ornamentation. Tanman Creations brings you a collection of chikan suits and fabrics in terry voile, mangalgiri cotton, khadi, crepe and georgette. The range spells comfort. Whether you like subtle shades or vibrant hues, Vani Creations has it all. Its ready-to-wear line of salwar suit ensembles in candy colours is sure to make heads turn. It has stunning fabrics in matka silk and cotton too. Clear silhouettes and elegant embellishments mark the collection, comprising Indo-Western and ethnic wear, from Karishma.
If Vividh brings bandini and patola saris and suits and dress materials in dupion silk, a wealth of crafts come alive in Saumya's collection, Kilol. Saris, salwars and fabric coordinates comprise the range.
If you feel no celebration is complete without jewellery, then Tara's neckpieces and bracelets are worth taking a look at. You can buy them without burning a hole in your pocket. There are also coordinated bedspreads in silk, brocade, handloom and cotton and gift items from Prachi's.
The exhibition is on till October 23.
