A group of young artists are exhibiting their work at Artistic Art Gallery
FIVE YOUNG Chennai artists two painters, a printmaker and two sculptors are displaying their work at the Artistic Art Gallery in T. Nagar.
P. Suresh's acrylics on board are replete with reds, greens, browns; dark shades dominate his works inspired by Nature. "I start with figurative work and then keep layering. I don't set out to depict a particular form, I explore the forms of Nature through my work," says the artist.
The forms in his paintings could be people, animals, reflections, ponds or flowers.
P. Ramesh's works are also inspired by Nature. His paintings are splashes of green, blue and brown.
The green-blue sea, lush green of foliage and yellows of the sun seem to rule his use of the roller brush and palette knife.
Sculptor V. Yuvaraj works with various kind of media. Glass, metal, stone, paint and wood combine to form works of art.
The `Buddha' is a wonderful combination of a traditional bronze head, a glass body on metal lotus that has elongated stem sitting on a glass base.
The wooden `Centred' figure reminds one of a person introspecting.D. M. Dhanashekaran is the printmaker of the group, with his simple but classic etchings and prints on show.
The paintings and sculptures are priced from Rs. 1,000.
