Art Karat's new collection is aptly named "Desire." For wearing or even owning jewellery is every woman's desire.
Created by well-known jewellery designer Asha Kamal Modi, this range of classic designs are made of silver dipped in gold. Studded with colourful semi-precious stones, these pieces look traditional yet stylish.
There are earring, necklaces, bangles and bracelets to choose from. An exhibition to showcase the range will be held from 16 to 21 August from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hotel Chola Sheraton, 13, Cathedral Road.
KARIGARS FROM Jaipur and Hyderabad have put together a collection of anitique-looking jewellery with a dull gold polish finish. Called Aura, this collection is displayed at Collage@7W (Appa Rao Galleries, No.7, Wallace Garden, 3rd Street, ph: 28334955). There are jhumkas, padhakams, maatals, balis, chokers and bracelets set in patterns of flowers, leaves and other patterns inspired by Nature.
Cob rubies, sapphires, emeralds and pearls have been used to lend an extra sparkle to these pieces created in 22 carat gold.
