Winning spree

TACKLING VARIETY subjects within the commercial framework is his forte.

Vinayan's latest hit, Velli Nakshatram is heading towards a 100-day run all over Kerala.

Set against a period backdrop, the film is attracting the crowds for its fantasy element as well as the histrionics of a four-year old child artiste Taruni, better known as `Rasna' baby, popular through the product's promos.

Prithviraj and Meenakshi (Sharmilee for Tamil audience) play the lead roles in a story set during the Tippu Sultan's period. A cruel King orders execution of an entire family including a four -year child. And they are reborn as mother and daughter.

Both are bestowed with the vision of the past. They identify their tormentor and killer and how they take revenge in this birth forms the main theme. The child plays a major role in the film.
