Nitin is in

Successful hero Nitin has an impressive line-up of films directed by who's who of the industry

AT 21, Nitin is on a roll, what with five films in the pipeline and two super-hits in his kitty, besides two films in the making with prestigious directors like Krishnavamsi and Rajamouli.

The adulation, fame, money and stardom came to him at an age, when any youngster would be struggling to chart one's career. But Nitin takes it all in his nonchalant stride, attributing everything to god and his directors. Nitin had to discontinue his engineering and plunge into acting, full time, after he hit the bull's eye with Jayam and dil. Now he is a busy young star with, with top directors Teja, Jayanth, Vasanthbalan, Suryakiran and Karunakaran, lined up to give him more hits..

"God has been kind enough to put me in the hands of directors who shaped my career. They have laid a strong foundation for me to climb the ladder of success in such short span.''

On his joining films, Nitin says that the interest was there but never thought it would materialise so soon." My family is into film distribution and at the back of my mind there was this urge to enter films and in one of the film functions, director Teja asked me whether I was interested in movies. I nodded my head and his reply was, you will soon become an actor. I did not take his words seriously because I was a teenager and did not attend any acting course too. But he came with Jayam script and everything that followed is history now.''

On being praised for his work, he says, "Yes you feel happy when your work is praised, but I attribute my success to my directors who shaped me the way I am today. I haven't worked very consciously towards my goal, because I was unsure about my career in films. I think I have been fortunate to start my career with Teja. ''

On his films, "Jayam was all about love in a village backdrop while Dil is about city-bred, college student. Both were two different roles. In Sri Anjaneyam, I am playing an orphan who is a devotee of lord Hanuman, in Sai I am a rugby player. I am trying to be careful not to be typecast."

On the one flop so far, "Sambaram had a good story line, a very good director and star cast, yet it was not received well at the box office. I was very upset, becuase I thought I would have a hat-trick. I got depressed but recovered soon. Now I feel that Samabaram has taught me to take things in its stride. It made me look at things positively because I realised success and failure are part of the package and one should not get disheartened by the failures.''

On his private life, "I am missing the fun of youth. I am unable to meet my friends more often now. In fact I could not spend much time with my family these nine month as I was on location for Sri Anjaneyam. But I should not be complaining as I have achieved so much in such a short span.

About his love life, "I am too young for all that. Right now I am busy with my career and I am happy with it,'' concludes Nitin.
