Panipuri goes fusion
From iced-tea to cold coffee, `chaat' and cakes, Exclamations has it all
PANIPURI GOES the fusion way at Exclamations! The recently opened mocktail pub at Raj Bhavan Road known for its weird and wonderful menu now whips up the pani of the puri with Curacao, Grenadine and Cranberry. Believe us or not, it is something else.
Says Exclamations managing partner Gautam, "The fusion panipuri is getting popular by the day, particularly among girls who get a kick out of them and freak out on the colourful pani." At Rs. 25 a plate, sure one can just go on and on.
In fact, in the new snack-menu for Exclamations (Tel: 55759789) nothing costs more than Rs. 40. And there is Vada Pav too. Among other snacks are Dahi papdi, Bhel Puri, Ragada Samosa, Sev puri and Samosa chaat. Add to it the delectable, sinfully rich brownies and pastries, sugary muffins and tarts.
"We decided to give in to the requests of our guests who have been constantly asking for snacks, and not just mocktails for a wholesome experience," adds Gautam. Among ice creams, the new `summer specials' are Khallas (a deadly combo of several melt-in-the-mouth flavours), Choco Tripple Sundae/Choco Sandwich, Return of the Yummy and 440 volts.
The new mocktails are all soda-based, which makes them more light and likeable. And they come in many interesting colours and names.
Cranberry Frog (Cranberry liqueur with fresh juice and crush-n-cream), Pussy Foot and Virgin Sex on the Beach not only sound wild, but are also hot with the hep college-going crowd who frequent the place.
With ice cream, chaat, cakes and mocktails, need we ask for more? So, lap it up this summer at Exclamations for an evening of good-hearted fun and laughter with a bright drink that does not leave any buzz. Only a desire to order one more.
