WITH INDIA and Pakistan battling it out on the cricket field across the border, hotels and restaurants, in their bid to cash in on the cricket fever, have come out with some exciting "cricketing offers".
Pizza Hut, declaring itself "cricket crazy" is offering speciality items like Veggie Pavilion, Medium Pacer and Double Century, so that people can enjoy the Indo-Pak cricket series at their homes or offices on TV without any interruption. The Pizza offers, valid during the One-Day Internationals and Test Matches, will be available on delivery orders at all the 70 Pizza Huts across the country. With deliveries that promise to land faster than the `Rawalpindi Express', customers can get their favourite pizzas encased in a specially designed box right at their doorstep. Pizza lovers can have a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas. The Viceroy at the Claridges Hotel is all geared up for the Indo-Pak cricket series. It is offering a sumptuous beverage buffet comprising of a choice of snacks from the specially prepared snacks menu and unlimited drinks. The specially designed beverage buffet, priced at Rs.495 plus taxes per person, can be enjoyed while watching the cricket match on a large screen television at The Viceroy.
The Lounge Bar at The Village Restaurant Complex, Tonic, is another one that that promises to give a live experience to the cricket fans. One can savour delicious food while catching the excitement of the cricket match live on big screens. Besides a special lunch buffet that is on offer for Rs.250, the Tonic also offers a variety of food items in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian category. Not to lag behind is Radisson MBD at Noida, which has also made special arrangements for the cricket enthusiasts to watch the entire Indo-Pak cricket series live and uninterrupted on giant screens at its bar @links with unlimited snacks and drinks thrown in. At Rs.999 all-inclusive that includes unlimited drinks (spirits and beer) and snacks, one can watch a match for the whole day. For one innings it is Rs.599, and one-hour cost is Rs.99.

Mirchi at Ansal Plaza apparently wants to make everyone `feel good'. It is also screening the ongoing Indo-Pak cricket series in its restaurant besides dedicating a festival of Feel Good Hours. The menu on offer has a range of exotic kababs. For the vegetarians there is the tandoori bharwa aloo, with aloo scooped out and stuffed with paneer and masala. The rates for the drinks start from Rs.20 and go up to Rs.125. The restaurant that has a 42-inch screen will host the Feel Good hours till the end of the cricket series.
Meanwhile the Radisson Hotel at National Highway 8, is featuring an Indo-Pak cricket special offer during matches. This offer is being featured at NYC, I'Ching and Italianni's. There will be a beer bucket with five pints of beer for Rs.400 for walk-in guests. Guests will get opportunities to participate in various contests to win prizes for free meal vouchers at NYC, I'Ching and Itallianni's or vouchers for the Pastry shop. Groups can get fixed food and beverage packages and watch the matches exclusively on large screens, in privacy, at Rs.850 (plus taxes).
Meanwhile, at Uppal's Orchid at National Highway 8, near IGI Airport, the Pakistani Food Festival, Samjhauta, is on till March 24 between 7-30 p.m. and 11-45 p.m., where a range of authentic Pakistani dishes can be relished. Items on offer include gawadar ka jheenga (prawns barbecued over charcoal fire), Ravi khaga masala (fish cooked in an iron kadai with khara masala), Lahori champ (lamb chops braised with traditional garam masala), Sindhi biryani (aromatic biryani from Sindh) and other delights.
