BEFORE THEY hit the stores across the country this summer, the latest creations by a host of designers will be unveiled at Vimonisha's Private Collection on show from today till February 21.
The gallery displays its Private Collections six times annually and begins this year with the Spring/Summer 2004 preview.
On display will be Indo-western outfits and saris in interesting fabrics by Anshu-Niti from Bangalore. Chic cuts and simple lines mark their creations. Dogri from Jaipur has come up with new shades. Block printed fabrics and garments comprise its line. Floral, also from Jaipur, is being presented for the first time in Chennai. Its salwar suits in voile, crepe and georgette are stylishly cut and intricately embroidered.
If you're looking for children's wear, Indu Fashion from Bangalore has them besides ethnic salwar suits. You can also check out the collection of embroidered and appliquéd home linen in cotton and handloom from Sindhu Khaitan of Kolkata.
There will also be K.K. Creations' designer salwars and saris in cotton and silk and Creations Ria's dress materials in chiffon, crepe, jute and voile with maheswari and kalamkari prints.
