Simple styles, dressy embellishments. That's the essence of "Glitter'', an exhibition that showcases Piya Lulla's collection. Consisting of Western and Indo-Western outfits, the range comprises vibrant clothes with colourful embellishments to suit the festive season.
"I've targeted young women who are adventurous enough to try out different looks," says Piya. "These are mainly party wear and that's why I have called it Glitter." Corduroy capri embellished with shells, salwar suits lined with georgette and self embossed designs (priced Rs.1500 onwards), stretch velvety skirt with sequins, short tops in chiffon, georgette and velvet (priced Rs.600 onwards) and kaftans with hand embroidered sleeves in earthy shades, denim trousers sequined with shells and beads and shirts in stretch cotton with glittering beads apt for the party look (priced at Rs 700)... these are some of the highlights.
Another creation that's worth mention is the denim trouser that fuses the sharara look with flared georgette from the knees. Priced at Rs. 750, this piece adds to the Indo-Western theme of the collection. "I also undertake custom-made orders," she says.
Accessories also form part of the show handbags in canvas, cotton and silk with intricate work on them and jewellery that include beaded and traditional Tibetan pieces, belts and rings priced at Rs. 100 onwards complete the collection. The exhibition is on till December 28 at Textures, 96C T.T.K Road.
