Watch out Udita!
Udita Goswami is all set to take the road to the reel world with Pooja Bhatt's directorial debut venture, `Paap'
Udita Goswami... well-timed plunge?
THIS WINTER another model is taking the plunge with Paap. Yes, Udita Goswami is ready to turn over a new leaf in her career with Pooja Bhatt's directorial debut opposite ramp-mate John Abraham.
"The film is not offbeat as the title suggests. It is an intense love story shot in Ladakh, yes, there are no dance numbers but I am asked not to reveal much as the producers are going for a build-up exercise before the December release," says Udita.
About shooting in Ladakh, a new discovery as far as mainstream Bollywood is concerned, Udita apprises, "Leh would have been fine, but Pooja shot in Kaza, where mornings and nights are freezing while midday temperature soars like that of a desert. The location is going to be the highlight of the film."
On the latest trend of the ramp culminating on the road to the reel world, Udita says that it is the success of Bipasha and John that made her try the new medium. "I learnt the most from John. Though my other co-stars, Gulshan Grover and Mohan Agashe, have more experience, my inspiration was John. When a man from the same background can emote, why can't I, I thought. In fact, I found emotional scenes easier to perform than the comic ones. Then Mahesh (Bhatt)ji was always there to help out."
Udita, who originally belongs to Dehra Dun is shifting base to Mumbai this month. "As I am getting lots of film offers, it is sensible to shift. Coming from a small town, I always wanted to be in the entertainment industry, Delhi made me practical. I think Mumbai will add to this realistic approach. But I miss the quaint driving experience in the Doon valley."
However, the model is found a misfit for the watch promotion, as she has no idea of the timepieces that she is promoting. "These watches are too expensive. Anyway, I love to collect sunglasses not watches." Well, that aquiline gaze really demands priority.
