`Flavour', a new eatery in the city, serves Chinese and Continental dishes. Check out their German Mousse and White Forest pastry...
`FLAVOURS', A new eatery by the Amritha Group of Hotels, opened its doors to the public on June 11.
"There is not a single eatery on the long stretch from Palayam to Shankhumugham. Hence, we decided to start one at Pallimukku," says Praseeth, operations manager of Flavours.
Currently, their fare is limited to Chinese and a few Continental dishes. But the food is good and worth the money. Mind you, it does not come very cheap though!
Fried sausages (Rs. 30 for three pieces) is the best bet for a starter. Garlic bread (Rs. 15) and French fries (Rs. 25) are the other favoured options.
You could even start off your meal with a chicken salad (Rs. 30) or cole-slaw (Rs. 15).
The outlet also has on offer chicken burger (Rs. 30), chicken and cheese burger (Rs. 45), vegetable burger (Rs. 25), vegetable and cheese burger (Rs. 35), hamburger (Rs. 30) and chicken hotdog (Rs. 30).
The canopied space outside the restaurant serves as the perfect setting for quick bites.
The air-conditioned enclosure is just perfect, if you wish to have an elaborate meal. Chicken fried rice (Rs. 35) and vegetable fried rice (Rs. 25), chicken noodles (Rs. 35) or vegetable noodles (Rs. 25) serves as the main dish with fried chicken (Rs. 35), chilli chicken (Rs. 30) and gobi manchurian (Rs. 25) as accompaniments.
But the best fare is the sandwiches, which can double up as a meal. The egg sandwich (Rs. 15) has two pieces, bread toasted in ghee layered with cheese and omelette. These are quite filling.
Adjacent to the restaurant is the bakery section that has pastry (Rs. 7/Rs. 8), Doughnuts (Rs. 8), mouth-watering German Mousse (Rs. 18), Fudge Tart (Rs. 10) and White Forest (Rs. 15).
White chocolate is used to impart white colour; it is similar to the Black Forest pastry.
"A lot of customers are asking for pizza and we've plans to introduce our special range of this Italian delicacy soon," says Praseeth.
"We hope pizzas will spice up the menu of our home delivery facility," he adds. Combo' packs and sundaes in the dessert section, aimed at corporate offices, are also in the offing.
