It is believed that nothing can express better than a flower, and with this as cue, Srikanth set off on a flowery journey nine years ago at Hyderabad. Christening his florist showroom "Orchid's florist" after the flower known for its longevity and elegance, he won the hearts of many.
Flowers of any type speak a universal language transcending all barriers and has the capability to reach and soothe the innermost emotion. It was the only decorative item before the advent of the concept of using jewellery to deck oneself up. Even today flowers are not only used to embellish the ambience on occasions and functions but also convey the sweetest message in the most delicate fashion. "Give a bouquet to your girlfriend on Valentine's Day and the maiden would be bowled over, and at times a single rose could do the trick to make your wife fall in love head over heels in spite of your failing to keep up that cinema commitment," says Srikanth.
What started off as an experimental venture by two persons in 1995 is today a world of flowers by itself. Orchid's has grown to serve over 6,000 clients and the family of two has expanded to a 25 strong well-knit professionals.
To add freshness and fragrance to the serenity of this port city they have set up their first retail outlet outside Hyderabad in Dutt Island last week.
Promising to deliver any type of flower arrangement during any time of the day and to any major city across the globe the showroom boasts of a rich collection of all types of flowers that include rare species like Alstroemeria, Anthurium, Gerbera and Orchids.
"We have a few unique attractions to go with the inauguration offer, like one can book their order over phone and it would be home delivered. Customers can avail themselves of the privilege card offer for discounts and bonus points. Booking in advance for the entire year can be done and the bouquets will be delivered on time.We accept all major credit cards. Apart from undertaking floral arrangements to suit all occasions we also cater for champagne arrangements and chocolate and balloon arrangements," adds Mr. Srikanth.
The flowers are airlifted from Bangalore every day and naturally treated in the attached workshop to keep them fresh for a couple of days. The bouquets are tastefully arranged over cane baskets that are exclusively brought from Kashmir and a few are imported from China. "Apart from the natural treatment that we give, the stem of the flowers in the bouquet arrangements are inserted into water soaked floral bricks that are imported from Malaysia and placed inside each basket to keep them fresh and lively," says he.
