For the college crowd

Perfections brings a special offer for college students, who can pick up a salwar kameez set for Rs. 500 from an exclusive counter featuring cottons, chiffons, georgettes, leather satins and more.

FILMY TRENDS and individual styles together make for the campus fashion forecast. While the Tusshar Kapoor-Kareena starrer Mujhe kuch kehna hai made big time waves on the fashion scene, the campus-brand long khadi kurta still remains in vogue. This season, "pants teamed with kurtis and kurtas in pastels and the Patiala salwar are in vogue. On the whole, the fitted look is in," says Mukta Bajaj of Perfections boutique, which incidentally has a special offer for college students.
"Cotton batiks like those from Tutu Taneja with flashy prints on summer voiles, originally priced at Rs. 750 are available for Rs. 500. We are also offering a discount on tailoring charges, where students can pay Rs. 100 instead of Rs. 175 for a salwar kameez," says Mukta.
The collection presents pastels in cotton, embroidered handlooms and leheriya options in georgettes. The chiffons come in sea green, lemon yellow and aqua. And if you want more colour, you could try out the hand printed jute. For the college fete, the bandhni, mirrors and ghungroo combo is just perfect. For a formal do, try out leather satins with kundan and zardosi. The colour options are grey, violet, firoza and other party shades. The moss crepe line, prints with badla and stripes in tones of red with mirror work are ideal for tops.
The new arrivals include shaded Kota salwar kameez -- spray dyed with cut dana for Rs. 1,500 and badla tops paired with elaborate salwars and shaded dupattas (Rs. 2,320). Check out the leheriya kurta with a detailed salwar featuring crochet and silver lace with a silver beading for the dupatta. The ensemble priced at Rs. 1,200 can be also crafted as a short kurta with a churi or pants combo for the Freshers' Party.
And with the wedding season on, if you want to pick up a few ghagras for the shaadi, mehendi and the works, the boutique offers a 15 per cent off on the ghaghras (Rs. 2,950 - Rs.12,000) in predominantly nets featuring kundan and antique zardosi apart from those in brocade and crepe in blue peach, white, lime green and grey.
