The right step
LOOKS LIKE a lull after all the storm at Cannes? Nay, forever a papparazi's delight, Aishwarya Rai, has, among other assignments, a Latin-American dance number to look forward to. The breezy twists are to be choreographed by expert, Sandip Soparrkar for the film, "Kyon Ho Gaya Na Pyar" opposite Vivek Oberoi. Remember that snappy ballroom dance sequence of Karisma Kapoor in "Zubeidaa" in her curls that added a unique charm to the scene and earned her columns of favourable lines from the press? Thanks to Sandip, who taught the finer aspects of ballroom dancing to Ms Kapoor. Said to have shunned lucrative offers in hotel management, Sandip landed at Ballroom Teachers Training School, Germany, and then decided to reach out to several wannabes that included Kitu Gidwani and Yana Gupta. Soparrkar, the Mr.India 1998 finalist, is planning to open a dance school in the capital. Tango, fox-trot, samba, cha cha, waltz and quick-step anyone for a shake?
