Ken Ghosh... no more campus romance.
`KEN' I please light a cigarette... if you don't mind?
Polite, funny to the hilt and a man on the move. Ken Ghosh the director of "Ishq Vishk" is brimming with joy on the success of his first film. On the above average response that the film has received, he observes, "The promotion and packaging of a film is really important. Tips has done a great job. My movie has aspirational characters, they are all ordinary people put in an extraordinary circumstances. It does not have classic ingredients, the picture is about life and real people enacting it on reel".
Before getting into the shoes of the director Ken dabbled in a lot of things. He worked with Ashok Mehta as a television editor, made advertisements for products like Philips and Krackjack, etc. music videos and now the silver screen. "I like it like this. Don't plan anything and keep moving with the flow. I thought about making a movie since a long time, everything was ready. After my scriptwriter narrated the story to me again, I thought that something could still be changed. So we sat on it all over again, until I was satisfied and then called the shots," says the perfectionist.
"Colloquial dialogues and a contemporary story in the backdrop of a college, `IshqVishk' can actually remind one of their college life," reiterates Ken.
On how different is making a film from a music video? The philosopher of sorts in Ken wakes up and says, "Each music video has a theme around which it revolves. A film has a lot of themes attached to a basic foundation story with an array of roles to be portrayed and create a movie type".
There's just no stopping Ken and his chamber of ideas. "I am definitely going to make more movies, but I pledge that they won't be campus-centred. I am tired of roaming around colleges," he quips, lighting another cigarette.
Peppy, happy, up-tempo, catchy... Ken is on cloud nine. Keep doing `the things you do'.
