Dev's new project
HE MADE waves at Johannesburg. The man who received the IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award-2003 belies his age. The yesteryear hero, Dev Anand, was in the U.S. at the time of the Grammy Awards. And Dev Anand was impressed with the accomplishments of Norah Jones. It didn't take him much time to decide about making a movie on the young achiever.
But we hear that Norah isn't as impressed as Dev Saab. She thought the idea was `exploitative', but Dev saab thought otherwise... he insisted she "feels flattered" by his gesture.
If this isn't enough, the enthusiastic septuagenarian wants to play the sitar maestro Ravi Shankar in the film and adds that he would love to have Nicole Kidman play Norah's part!
Visualising it as a musical, Dev hopes Shirley McLaine would pitch in as Norah's American mother in "Song of Life". Musical achievement in the family notwithstanding, one wonders how the Ravi Shankars would react to their tale told on celluloid!
