Stumped!

ANOTHER TV hostess is all set to make her big screen debut. She is Shriya the hottest Veejay on SS Music who hosts "Phonetastic". She is making her debut in the Telugu film "Appudappuda" along with another newcomer Raju and the film is slated for release this Friday. Said Shriya: "I owe my success and popularity to SS Music which was my launch pad. When I heard the story of "Appudappuda" from director Chandra Siddartha, who had earlier made an English film "Inscrutable Americans", I thought it was the best script that I could ask for."

The Telugu born and Chennai bred girl Shriya has the right attitude and says that she had to convince her father, former Indian wicket keeper, Bharat Reddy, that the role did not require running around trees or wearing revealing clothes. Added Shriya: "The film deals with love, marriage, separation and reunion. In the film, I play the role of Radhika an independent and outgoing girl, just like my real self. Added to that the film conveys a message that men and women are equal."

When asked whether she would stop anchoring shows on SS Music, Shriya shot back: "Never! Anchoring and interacting with people are my passion."
