Sweet and lovely

IS SRIKANTH still soft on Sneha? The answer lies in the success of their new film "Parthipan Kanavu" in which they get "married on screen". In the film, Srikanth has ventured forth to play the role of a man who lives in a fantasy world. Sneha does her first double role in the film, which has some foot tapping numbers by Vidayasagar. Remember the song in "Dil Chahta Hai", where Saif Ali Khan and Sonali Kulkarni go down the memory lane singing "Woh Ladki Hai Kahan... ."? Similarly, there is a song in "Parthipan Kanavu" where the hero and heroine sing the song "Ye Maadapura... " in a dream sequence, which starts in the black and white era of K. V. Mahadevan, then becomes technicolour with M. S. Viswanathan's tune and finally Eastman Colour with Ilayaraja and ends in the present period of fast music by Vidyasagar.

According to the director, Karu Palaniappan, "The film is a youthful love story with an innovative twist in the climax and there are no negative characters." Among the new generation heroes, Srikanth is not only the most promising actor but also has a string of moderate hits to his credit.
