The Navodaya team, which made the first 3D film of the country is back after 18 years with another — "Magic Magic".

TO ENTERTAIN the audiences, cinematic art goes through lot of experiments constantly. Stereoscopic cinema or the 3D film as it is popularly known is the result of one such experiment.
Stereoscopy creations mesmerise the viewers taking them into a surrealistic world with virtual creations that form an illusion as if the objects are floating in the air and amidst us.
Navodaya unit headed by Appachan brought this concept first to India, with that runaway hit, "My Dear Kutti Chethan." And after 18 years, they are coming up with yet another 3D film, "Magic Magic" this summer in Tamil, Telugu and a dubbed Hindi version. "If our first film dealt with occult, this one is on magic, both provide enough material for thrill and entertainment," informs executive producer N. John. Most of the film is shot in Midtown and Lower Manhattan and Central Park, New York.
"S.P. Balasubrahmanyam plays the magician and Suraj Balajee (grandson of veteran actor-producer Balajee) his grandson, who wishes to follow in his grandfather's footsteps much against the wish of his America-settled father. The boy meets a clever dog Romeo, who too escapes from his owners who are thieves. And their escapades in the company of other boys and dogs (there is a love track for Romeo) form the rest of the screenplay. With the advent of the latest computer technology, we could better our previous effort in this genre with deft handling by director Jose and brilliant cinematography by Aswin Kaul supported by a battery of dedicated and talented technical team," continues John.
"Making of a 3D film is only half the job accomplished. The other half is to carefully monitor and successfully exhibit it," claims John. "We have to provide special 3D screens, projector lenses and 3D glasses to watch the movie. And to collect these glasses back, clean them before re-distributing to other viewers is not an easy task. That's why making of 3D films is a rare phenomenon."
Navodaya with their own dedicated team of 3D specialists in manufacturing 3d glasses (left eye red glass and right eye blue or green), silver screens and projector lenses, is all set to offer an exciting fare for the children and their parents across the country.
