Rock `n roll

The musical juggernaut gets to roll in April with Rolling Stones choosing to visit Bangalore and Mumbai to enthral the rock fans in India.

THEY HAVE been rocking the world successfully for the last so many years, and earned legendary fame along the way. Rolling Stones may be past their prime, but the mention of their name still carries excitement and expectations among fans. India has a sizeable number of rock followers too who'd welcome their visit with glee.

The countdown to their concerts in India has begun, as part of the massive `Licks' World Tour, the band is set to trek through Bangalore and Mumbai in April.

The performance in Bangalore will be on April 11 at the Palace Grounds and April 14 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. With the `Licks' show that exhilarates the senses and continues to break new ground - the two city concerts promises to be a Stones celebration not to be missed.

This billion-dollar band, which has out sold other artistes including big names such as the Beatles, U2, Michael Jackson among others will be the first band to come to India with their entire theatrical effects.

The India `Licks' tour is presented by McDowell's No.1 and is co-sponsored by Pepsi, Hewlitt Packard and Set Max. The Taj Group of Hotels will host this large entourage of over 126 people during their stay in India. Sony entertainment Television has acquired the rights to air the Bangalore concert.

DNA Networks who are organising the event is pulling out all stops to make this experience a memorable one for every single attending Rolling Stones fan. Tickets will go on sale on March 10. In Bangalore tickets are priced at Rs. 1,500, Rs. 900 and Rs. 500, with tele-booking and home delivery available on 080-5526622.

Tickets to the concert in Mumbai will be priced at Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,200, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500. Tele-booking and home delivery is available in Mumbai by calling 022-56680088.
