AN INDIAN `Barista Championship' was conducted here recently, in which around 22 baristas from all over the country participated. It was Vikram's unique brew `Coorg Sunset' along with his presentation, and passion for coffee, which clinched him the first prize in the competition. It was a second win for Vikram whose `Kapi Nirvana'- creamy iced coffee with twingling notes of coconut with a punch of espresso served in an intricately designed coconut shell and topped with chocolate coated bean, mint leaf and a swirl of coconut, won the third prize in the World Barista Championship held in Oslo last year. "This time I tried to bring in the colour concept and used orange syrup with a layer of sweetened cream, milk and topped it with freshly brewed espresso," he said. Vikram Khurana will represent India in the World Barista Championship (WBC) to be held in April as part of the Speciality Coffee of America's annual conference at Boston.
