Chiru's gesture
THE FAN frenzy has taken its toll at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the mega star Chiranjeevi's Indra held in Vijayawada recently. The huge turnout at the event became unmanageable as the fans tried to rush forward to have a glimpse of their favourite stars, despite pleas from Chiranjeevi to the crowd to be calm and cooperate with the police. In the melee one J. Srinivas died while several others were injured. Reacting to the incident the Chiranjeevi Charitable trust has donated Rs one lakh cheque to the kin of Srinivasa Rao while cheques totalling to Rs one lakh were given to three others who were seriously injured in the melee. While presenting the cheques Nagababu brother of Chiru said that megastar gets very upset about such incidents in which his fans are hurt.
