Wedding bells
RUMOURS WERE rife all over the South that Soundarya is getting married on April 27! When contacted, this soft spoken actress who was in Delhi recently to receive the National Award for producing "Dweepa", Best Regional Film, said: "I don't know how these rumours came about. I will be getting married this July to a relative who is a Bangalore-based businessman".
Soundarya has many offers coming her way in Malayalam after her "Yathrakkarude Sraddhakku" became a hit. Now she is acting opposite Mohanlal in Priyadarshan-directed "Kochu Kilichundan Mambazham", where she has essayed a difficult role with conviction.
In Tamil, she stole the thunder in "Chokkathangam" opposite Vijaykanth, and has accepted two new Kannada films "Vijayadasami" and "Sri Renukamba".
She feels that she missed the National Award for the Best Actress for her performance in "Dweepa" by a whisker to Shobana and Tabu. Now with renewed vigour, she is planning to produce and act in another art house movie, which she hopes will get her the elusive award.
