THE LONG delayed Vijay-Simran starrer "Udaya" which was under production for nearly three years is likely to be released this May.
The highlight of this film is the coming together of A. R. Rahman's music, which is blended with Vijay's Travolta type dancing. HMV at a sneak peek unveiled the music of the film, which is pure vintage Rahman.
Rahman does it every time. Just when doubts have been raised about the popularity of his music in Tamil, he springs another surprise.
Those who are fans of Rahman's fast-track music will go crazy when they hear the gana-number "Thiruvelekeni Rani... ", a peppy song sung by "Chaiyya Chaiyyya... " fame Sukhwinder Singh and our own Karthik.
Said Producer `Pyramid' Natarajan who is also now a leading character artist: "The music of `Udaya' is mind-blowing. Rahman has taken great pains to compose all the five numbers, which include some great melodies like the music of my earlier films `Sangamam' and `Rhythm'."
Natarajan and HMV are hoping that the maestro himself will premiere the foot-tapping "Thiruvelekeni Rani... " at his `Unity Of Light' show in Chennai on February 21.
