Forgetful? Get organised!

DO YOU ever spend time looking for something that you know is `right here, somewhere'? Do you ever experience mild panic when you can't find something important? Do you often forget to do things or leave tasks unfinished? If so, these tips may help you get things done in an orderly and timely fashion.

Adopt this motto: `A place for everything and everything in its place.' Searching for things eats up precious time and creates stress. Putting things away takes seconds, saves time and cuts stress.

Keep things you use often close to hand. Put them away, in the same place each time, when you're not using them.

Carry a small notebook to keep track of ideas, reminders to yourself, and promises you've made. This is a great memory aid that stops you forgetting things and re-inventing the wheel. Go through your notebook regularly and act on what you've written.

Don't create clutter with bits of paper or sticky notes. Write important information wherever it belongs: in your diary, address book, or the relevant file.

You may have years of habits to break, but if you put in the effort required to change them, you'll be glad you did.
